Always be up front with you teenager but don't dwell on it. You should "never" and I mean "never" speak badly of the other parent because it only makes them wonder if you ever really loved each other to begin with. What does that say for you as their parents?? What signal does that send them for future reference when they begin to consider a future with someone of their choosing? It tells them that, "If this doesn't work out, I will just get a divorce." Divorce being so easy in today's times, we need to teach our children about true commitment and as our vows say, in "good times and in bad!"
